If you are working in direct patient care settings and are interested in providing patient care services related to influenza, this course is ideal for you. This course may be of interest to pharmacists, pharmacy students, pharmacy technicians and other personnel in pharmacies.
With new information about influenza in the media and medical journals everyday, it is important to know where to find up-to-date resources. The concept of this course arose out of a need to bridge the gap between the health care system and the general public during the influenza season. The Rant (first section on the DVD) summarizes the concerns and challenges facing pharmacists as well as the roles that pharmacists play in the community during this season.
We are pleased to offer you this exciting learning opportunity! The DVD will provide you with information about influenza, its treatment and prevention and assessment of patients presenting to your pharmacy with symptoms. The Practice Development website will provide you with links to up-to-date information that you may access on a regular basis.
This is a distance learning course consisting of an instructional DVD featuring learning sessions by experts in infectious diseases and interviews with peers and other health care professionals; resource materials to complement the DVD as well as facilitate your ongoing learning in this area, including websites, references, and slide handouts; and a Post-Course Test (learning assessment).
