Pre-Workshop Assignment
This mandatory assignment is designed to prepare you for active participation in the workshop. It includes various readings, an instructional DVD, and a written submission to provide you with the opportunity to reflect on your current practice as well as the practice you hope to develop regarding patient assessment and documentation. The assignment is included in the course manual, which will be mailed to you.
Due Date: October 28, 2011
Workshop – November 4 & 5, 2011
Day One: Friday, November 4, 2011 - 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm
Activities include:

Small group work to practice and discuss your patient assessment and documentation skills in specific patient scenarios

Discussions regarding the process of patient assessment and documentation.
Day Two: Saturday, November 5, 2011 - 9:00 am to 4:30 pm
Activities include:
Interactions with standardized patients (actors) to complete a comprehensive patient assessment and accompanying documentation.

Presentation and discussion about implementing patient assessment and documentation into your daily practice.
Final Assignment
This mandatory assignment is designed to assess your integration of patient assessment and documentation into your daily practice routine. It includes a written submission of your documentation of a patient assessment that you have done after the workshop. Course instructors will provide individualized feedback on your assessment and documentation.
